🚄
AREX Express is the fastest to Seoul Station

Non-stop from either Incheon terminal to Seoul Station in about 43 minutes (51 from Terminal 2). The all-stop train is cheaper; airport buses drop closer to many hotels.

🔢
Do three things before you leave arrivals — in order

1) Get some cash (exchange booth or ATM). 2) Buy a SIM/eSIM. 3) Buy a T-money card. This order matters because airport convenience stores sell T-money for cash (won) only.

🚕
Foreigner-friendly taxis exist

Kakao T (English/Japanese, foreign-card option), Uber, and the official International Taxi (fixed fares, certified English/Japanese/Chinese drivers) all work for visitors — see the taxi-apps section below.

    Connect to free Wi-Fi

Join 'Incheon Airport WiFi' (no password) so you can use maps and messaging right away.

  2. 2

    Immigration

Have your passport ready plus your e-Arrival Card (or K-ETA if it applies to you). Fingerprints and a photo may be taken.

  3. 3

    Baggage & customs

Collect your bags, then take the green lane (nothing to declare) or the red lane if you carry alcohol, tobacco, or goods worth over about US$800.

  4. 4

    Get some cash

Currency-exchange booths and ATMs sit between baggage claim and the exit. Grab around ₩100,000 to start — you'll need won for T-money.

  5. 5

    SIM or eSIM

Telecom counters (e.g. LG U+) are in the arrivals hall; setup takes ~10–15 min and your phone must be unlocked. An eSIM can be activated before you even land.

  6. 6

    T-money card

Buy and charge it at GS25/CU or the Transportation Center machines (B1). Stores take won only — that's why cash comes first. Load ₩20,000–30,000.

  7. 7

    Head into the city

Follow 'AREX / Train' signs to B1 for the train, the 'Bus' signs for airport buses, or the marked taxi stand outside.

Taxi apps & services for foreigners

You don't need to speak Korean to take a taxi. These are built for — or work well for — foreign visitors:

ⓘ For the airport run, International Taxi's fixed fare removes any meter/traffic surprise. For everyday city trips, Kakao T matches fastest. Whatever you use, ignore anyone touting rides inside the arrivals hall.

Airport mistakes to avoid

💵
Buying T-money before getting cash

Airport convenience stores sell T-money for won only — no foreign cards. Exchange or hit an ATM first.

🚕
Unofficial taxi touts

Ignore anyone approaching you inside arrivals offering a ride. Use the official taxi stand, Kakao T, or the International Taxi (ask at the arrivals information booth).

🛃
Wrong customs lane

Take the red lane for alcohol, tobacco, or goods over ~US$800; otherwise the green lane.

🏢
Wrong terminal on the way back

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 serve different airlines. Check yours before departure — the free shuttle between them takes ~15–20 min.

⏰
Missing the last AREX

AREX doesn't run all night. Check the last train from your terminal in the timetable at airportrailroad.com; late arrivals should plan a bus or taxi instead.
