Suncheon Bay Wetland

A protected coastal wetland near Suncheon famous for its reed fields, mudflats and migratory birds.

Why go

Suncheon Bay is one of the world's best-preserved coastal wetlands, a broad expanse of reed beds and tidal mudflats on Korea's south coast.

Boardwalks lead through the golden reeds to a viewpoint hill, and in winter the bay hosts flocks of migratory birds, including rare cranes.

The reeds are most spectacular in autumn, and the adjacent Suncheonman Bay National Garden makes a natural pairing.
