Bulguksa is a masterpiece of Silla-era Buddhist art and a UNESCO World Heritage site, with stone terraces, bridges and two celebrated pagodas.
It is the centrepiece of a visit to Gyeongju, Korea’s ancient capital.
Built in its grand form in 751 during the Silla kingdom, Bulguksa is famed for the Dabotap and Seokgatap pagodas and its stone stairway 'bridges'. UNESCO listed it in 1995 together with the Seokguram Grotto on the mountain above.
