It's central and easy to reach, which makes it a natural base or first stop on day one.

Beyond the shops, the landmark Myeongdong Cathedral rises just above the district, and the streets are a hub for K-beauty flagships and duty-free stores. After dark the main lanes turn into one of Seoul's best street-food scenes — tteokbokki, hotteok and grilled skewers.
