Hongdae
Street performances, indie shops and nightlife.

Why go
Hongdae, around Hongik University, is Seoul's youthful arts-and-music district — buskers, indie boutiques, clubs and late-night eats.
It's the place to feel the city's energy after dark.
The district grew up around Hongik University, Korea's top art school, which shaped its indie-music and street-art character. Weekends fill the 'Hongdae playground' with buskers and free live shows, and the old railway is now the leafy Gyeongui Line Forest Park, nicknamed 'Yeontral Park'.
