Why go

Ihwa Mural Village climbs the slope below Naksan Park, its stairways and walls brightened with murals and art installations.

From the top there are wide views over the rooftops of old Seoul.

Below the Naksan stretch of the old Seoul city wall, this once-declining hillside was brightened from 2006 by a public art project, and its flower-stair and angel-wing murals became national photo icons. Some works have since been removed at residents' request, so it's quieter now.
