Ikseon-dong is a maze of narrow lanes where century-old hanok houses have been restored into cafes, dessert shops, boutiques and small restaurants.
It is a compact, atmospheric pocket that blends old architecture with a young, design-led scene.
The lanes date to a 1920s development often called one of Seoul's first planned hanok neighbourhoods. Long faded, they were revived from the 2010s into today's warren of cafes and boutiques, and the tight grid of alleys is easy — and fun — to lose yourself in.
