Why go

Jeonju Hanok Village is a large, well-preserved neighbourhood of traditional hanok houses in the city that gave the world bibimbap.

Its lanes are packed with tea houses, craft workshops, hanbok rentals and street food.

With more than 700 hanok houses it is Korea's largest such village, set beside the Gyeonggijeon shrine and the historic Jeondong Catholic Church. Jeonju is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy — the home of bibimbap and lively makgeolli alleys.
