The Jusangjeolli Cliffs on Jeju’s south coast are a wall of dark, hexagonal basalt columns formed as lava met the sea, with waves crashing against the stacked stone.
A short boardwalk leads to viewpoints over the formation.
The pillars formed as lava from Hallasan met the cold sea and fractured into tall polygonal columns, some rising over 20 m. The site lies within the Jungmun resort area on Jeju's south coast and is protected as a natural monument.
