Why go

Namdaemun is Korea's largest traditional market, a maze of alleys packed with clothes, kitchenware, accessories and some of Seoul's best street food.

It runs day and night and sits right by Namdaemun gate and Myeongdong.

With roots reaching back more than 600 years to the early Joseon dynasty, Namdaemun is Korea's oldest and largest traditional market — thousands of shops selling clothes, glasses, kitchenware and more, many trading through the night for wholesale buyers.
