Beomeosa is one of Busan's most important Buddhist temples, founded in the Silla era on the forested slopes of Geumjeongsan.

Its halls, stone pagoda and mountain setting feel a world away from the city's beaches.

Founded in 678 during the Silla kingdom, Beomeosa is a head temple of the Jogye Buddhist order, known for its spring wisteria and its Iljumun gate and Daeungjeon hall. It runs templestay programs for visitors who want to stay overnight.
