Why go

Manjanggul is one of the world’s finest lava tubes and part of Jeju’s UNESCO World Heritage listing, formed by flowing volcanic lava.

An open section leads through the tunnel to a towering lava column.

Formed a few hundred thousand years ago, Manjanggul runs about 7.4 km, of which around 1 km is open to visitors. That section ends at a lava column about 7.6 m tall — one of the world's largest — and the cave shelters a colony of bats.
